To setup the account open outlook, click on file select Info tab and select add account as shown in the picture below.
Select option “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and click on next.
In the new window as below you will be prompted to select your email service. Select Internet Email for POP and SMTP Setup and then click on next.
New window will be for the setup of the Internet E-mail settings.
The correct email setting would be provided to you by your Service provider. They would include the below mentioned basic settings.
Incoming mail Server (POP3) Name setting
Outgoing mail Server (SMTP) Name setting
Incoming and outgoing port settings with an SSL encrypted connection and other security settings. As described in the picture below.
Now imagine that your settings are as below:
Your name: Peter Smith
Your email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Incoming mail Server (POP3): mail.server.com | port 995 | with an SSL encrypted connection
Or it may be: pop3.server.com or mail.server.com | port 110 | without an encrypted connection
Outgoing mail Server (SMTP): mail.server.com | port 465 | with an SSL encrypted connection | requires authentication
Or it may be: mail.server.com | port 587 or 25 | with a TLS encrypted connection or even without an encrypted connection
To enter advanced settings please click on the “More Settings” button
Fill up the data as shown in the image below:
Then click on the next button the application would test the email connectivity with the server by sending out a test mail. As shown in the picture below.
Click on close. You have successfully setup your Email account in Microsoft Outlook 2010. You should see the image as shown below.
