How to Install PhpMyAdmin in Linux Server

How to Install PhpMyAdmin in Linux Server

Requirement – Root User name & Password of server, Mysql Root password & SSH access of the Server

Operating System – Linux

Login to your server Via SSH Console (Putty)

  • Login with Root user & password
  • Type the Following Command

[root@server ~]# rpm -ivh http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linux/Fedora/epel/6/i386/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

[root@server ~]#yum update

  • Wait to complete the Updates on the server , when task has been completed fire below mentioned command.

[root@server ~]# yum install phpmyadmin

It will take some time to install the Software

  • After complete the task fire below mentioned command

[root@server ~]# service httpd restart

  • [root@nimbus ~]# vi /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpMyAdmin.conf

Set the File AS BELOW:-

# Apache 2.4

<RequireAny>

Require ip 127.0.0.1

Require ip ::1

</RequireAny>

</IfModule>

<IfModule !mod_authz_core.c>

# Apache 2.2

Order Deny,Allow

Deny from None

Allow from All

Allow from ::1

</IfModule>

</Directory>

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/setup/>

<IfModule mod_authz_core.c>

# Apache 2.4

<RequireAny>

Require ip 127.0.0.1

Require ip ::1

</RequireAny>

</IfModule>

<IfModule !mod_authz_core.c>

# Apache 2.2

Order Deny,Allow

Deny from None

Allow from All

Allow from ::1

</IfModule>

</Directory>

# These directories do not require access over HTTP – taken from the original

# phpMyAdmin upstream tarball

#

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/libraries/>

Order Deny,Allow

Deny from None

Allow from All

</Directory>

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/setup/lib/>

Order Deny,Allow

Deny from None

Allow from All

</Directory>

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/setup/frames/>

Order Deny,Allow

Deny from None

Allow from All

</Directory>

# This configuration prevents mod_security at phpMyAdmin directories from

# filtering SQL etc.  This may break your mod_security implementation.

#

#<IfModule mod_security.c>

#    <Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/>

#        SecRuleInheritance Off

#    </Directory>

#</IfModule>

In above file we have changed the access from all. Save the file and exit

  • [root@nimbus ~]# Service httpd restart

Now you Can access PhpMyAdmin on your Browser.

http://yourip/phpMyAdmin

Login with your Mysql root User Name & password.
