How to Fix Issue “Adding the Specified Count to the Semaphore”

Adding the Specified Count to the Semaphorein SQL Server / Asp.net.

Semaphore Descriptionin SQL Server?

Generally we face the above issue while debugging our asp.net application due to the semaphore. The definition of semaphore is just a locking mechanism used by SQL Server.

Fixing the Problem

Default Connection String

<connectionStrings>

<add name=”dbConnetion_Test” connectionString=”Data Source=Saurabh; Initial Catalog=Test; Persist Security Info=True;User ID=test;Password=test;” />

</connectionStrings>

Solution for this Problem

<connectionStrings>

<add name=”dbConnetion_Test” connectionString=”Data Source= Saurabh; Initial Catalog=Test; Persist Security Info=True;User ID=test;Password=test; Pooling=False;” />

</connectionStrings>

Once we add “Pooling=False” condition to connection string then it will disable connection pool and run application without any problem.
