A Building Management System (BMS) is a computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as ventilation, lighting, power systems, fire systems, and security systems.
A BMS may also include the access control (i.e. biometric access wherein who should be allowed inside a restricted region and who should not) or other surveillance measures such as close circuit camera televisions or motion detectors.
A BMS may also be comprised of the fire alarm system wherein the fire panel inside the elevator could go off automatically and it is brought to the ground and parked there, thereby preventing others to use it in such emergency situations.
In short BMS can help you manage lighting, electric power, heating and ventilation, security and surveillance, access control, fire alarms, lifts and elevators, plumbing, trace heating and CCTVs. (1400)
